Emma has two very enjoyable film adaptations available, if you wanted to try it. (There's a lovely 2009 BBC TV adaptation, but that's longer, and I know you usually like things that are a bit shorter, at least to get into on first go.) I lean to the 1996 one - it has Jeremy Northam and lovely music and Sophie Thompson as Miss Bates - but the 2020 is visually so pretty you could eat it and very good & also has a great cast. (Basically, with Emma adaptations, you have almost nothing but different types of cakes available, whichever way you turn.)
