Meta: Story Arc Fatigue

Okay,
I have recently listened to the audios Masquerade, Signs and Wonders, and Entropy Plague. All of these are important and conclude major arcs.. While two of them have endings that frustrate and at the same time bring me to tears, I see a lot of complaints that these arcs, even if the ending is depressing or happy, lasted "too long" or (in the case of one of them) should have "ended three years ago." I have to ask, would you have rather have these stories end on a disappointing note? Or wait longer for some kind of resolution?
